What is zavzpret tm
(zavegepant)?

ZAVZPRET is the first and only CGRP receptor antagonist nasal spray. It is a prescription medicine used in adults for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura. ZAVZPRET was proven in clinical trials to deliver fast, effective treatment that is generally well tolerated.

ZAVZPRET was evaluated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks

In a study of 623 people taking ZAVZPRET vs 646 people taking placebo, people taking ZAVZPRET experienced the following:

  • provided freedom from pain in 24% (n=147/623) of people taking ZAVZPRET vs 15% (n=96/646) taking the placebo
  • provided freedom from most bothersome symptom* in 40% (n=247/623) of people taking ZAVZPRET vs 31% (n=201/646) taking the placebo

What about possible side effects?

ZAVZPRET may cause serious side effects. Allergic reactions, including hives and swelling of the face, can occur after you use ZAVZPRET. Call your healthcare provider or get emergency help if you have swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, or throat or trouble breathing.


In clinical studies, the most common side effects were unusual taste, nausea, nasal discomfort, and vomiting. Eighteen percent of people temporarily experienced unusual taste after using ZAVZPRET.

ZAVZPRET is not used to prevent migraine attacks. It is not known if ZAVZPRET is safe and effective in children.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION AND APPROVED USE

Do not use ZAVZPRET if you are allergic to ZAVZPRET or its ingredients.

Before you use ZAVZPRET, tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • have kidney problems
  • have liver problems
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
